Quite a few Changes are to be expected...

Well, for now, I am busy doing a bunch of stuff, and among those things are a bunch of changes for the Stream. I am going to be changing the location of the camera to where you can see my computer and me at the same time, and I will also be doing a bunch of other things like that coming in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!!!

Why you should get an iPod Touch rather than the iPhone

Well...it seems we have quite a modern dilemma, that I, too, have had to assess. Well, I think i have found my answer through many hours of hard thinking, and I am pretty darn sure i have the right answer. Here was my thought process. I will give you a list and cons for both buying the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Enjoy and indulge in my knowledge... ;-)

Sit back and hold on, and please keep all pre-conceived thoughts outside your mind at all times. Thank you, and have a good ride.

(Póngase cómodo y aguante, y mantenga por favor todo preconcibe los pensamientos fuera de su mente siempre. Gracias, y tiene un paseo bueno.)

Buying the iPhone...

Pros:
1. Obviously, you get a phone. But, chances are, you already have a cell phone.
2. You get SMS, which is pretty much what I said above.
3. You get Internet everywhere, depending on what you are willing to pay. This was the pro that almost made me want to buy the iPhone, and what makes me want to sell my iPod Touch and get an iPhone. Even though I could totally use the Internet on-the-go, I don't need it enough to spend extra cash, and we are talking a lot of extra moo-lah.
4. You get a camera. This would be useful, but, nowadays, pretty much every single cell phone has a camera built in, and the iPhone only has a 2.0 mega pixel camera, which is pretty typical for modern cell phones. Apple could have definitely done better with the camera.
5. You get Visual Voicemail...I can see how this is and can be very useful. But-its not worth the extra money.
6. You get better find-your-location with maps. In addition to triangulating the local Wi-Fi signals, Google triangulates the local cell towers. With the iPhone, you can even get directions on-the-go, which would be extremely useful.

Well, its now time to get to the cons for buying the iPhone.

Cons:
1. It is a lot more expensive...here are the prices for the iPhone compared to the iPod Touch.
iPhone 8gig: $399
iPhone 16 gig: $499
iPod Touch 8 gig: $299
iPod Touch 16 gig: $399
iPod Touch 32 gig: $499
No, there is no 32 gig iPhone.

iPhone Monthly rates:
$59.99 $59.99 $79.99 $99.99
Minutes 450 900 1350
Unlimited Data (email/web) Yes Yes Yes
Visual Voicemail Yes Yes Yes
SMS Text Messages* 200 200 200
Nights & Weekends 5000 Unlimited Unlimited
Rollover Minutes Yes Yes Yes
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Yes Yes Yes

iPod Touch monthly rates:

2. There are really no other cons for the iPhone, other than price. I would need the $99.99 rate...but I dont have that kind of money to shell out monthly.

Pros for the iPod Touch:

1. It is cheaper up front

2. There are absolutely no monthly payments.

3. It is cheaper.

4. It is cheaper.

5. It is cheaper.

Cons...

1. There is no camera, but chances are, you already have a camera.

2. There is no phone or SMS. But, you probably have this already.

3. There is no Internet everywhere. This is my least favorite con, but it isn't that bad...and it is free when you get Internet at Wi-Fi hot-spots, which is pretty darn close to 40% of all restaurants nowadays I reckon.

I hope this list has helped you make your decision. See you guys later!!!

I am in Cali...but have a bunch of stuff planned when I get home...

Hey guys...thanks for your support if you are reading this. I am in California because of a family emergency, but I assure you that Gadgetv isn't over after just a few days of broadcasting, in fact, far from it. I have lots of things planned (including an extremely detailed iPod Touch review, and I might be able to get my hands on an iPod Nano 3g...*hint* *hint*) and I will even be spending some money on Gadgetv to make it better. Well, that's pretty much it, I will be back streaming Sunday night. (February 28)
